Investment strategy and policy

The objective of the Sub-Fund is to provide investors with easy and efficient access to the attractive potential of the precious metals sector.

The Sub-Fund will invest in stocks of issuers active in the exploration, extraction, transformation and trading of any precious metals (gold, silver, palladium and platinum mainly), these issuers being principally Canadian companies quoted at the Toronto Stock Exchange (“TSX”) or TSX Venture Exchange.

The Sub-Fund will principally invest its net assets in equities part of the universe defined here above.

The Sub-Fund will also invest in sub-products linked to the precious metals market qualified as eligible transferable securities not included embedded derivatives, in precious metals indices which are eligible and in investment funds including ETFs.

The Sub-Fund may engage in various portfolio strategies to attempt to reduce certain risks of its investments and to attempt to enhance return.

Investor Profile

This Sub-Fund is suitable for investors who want to participate in the opportunities offered by the precious metals equity markets and/or who plan to increase their investment value over the long term by investing in the precious metals sectors. Those investors are aware of the prices volatility of such instruments made in the Shares.

As the Sub-Fund will be invested in stocks which may be qualified as volatile, the time horizon recommended for investors is minimum 3 to 5 years.

Financial instruments and limits

The TUNDRA CAPITAL MANAGEMENT GOLD Fund is exposed to:

  • Equities : The Sub-Fund will principally invest its net assets in equities part of stocks of issuers active in the exploration, extraction, transformation and trading of any precious metals, these issuers being principally Canadian companies quoted at the Toronto Stock Exchange ("TSX") or TSX Venture Exchange.
  • Debt securities : The Sub-Fund may invest up to 100% of its net assets in debt securities. There is no restriction so as to the currency of these securities.
  • Currencies : The Sub-Fund may use currencies other than the Sub-Fund’s valuation currency for exposure or hedging purposes. There is no restriction in terms of exposure to currencies ;
  • Derivatives : The Sub-Fund may use futures or options (equities, interest rates, currencies, etc.) traded on regulated or OTC markets in order to generate exposure or hedge the portfolio. The interest rate and equity derivatives markets may only be used to generate leverage amounting to a maximum of 100% of the Sub-Fund’s assets ;
  • Howell it is not the intention, the Sub-Fund may invest up to 10% of its net assets in units or shares of UCITS.
